What is Cloud Based Accounting?

At Morris and Tonsfeldt,  we are committed to the Cloud* and have all of our accounting applications and administrative software programs running on our own secure site.

We use a server that is at a remote site instead of one in our offices.  The Server Service Providers are the experts and they take care of the security, maintenence, tech support and program updates; while we just log on and get busy every morning.  We can log in from anywhere at anytime and be instantly connected to our scheduling and email, tax programs, client information and data files...pretty much anything we need for a good days work.

We are experts at accounting and taxes; we figured it was time to let the experts at technology take care of the rest.

"All things will be produced in superior quantity and quality, and with greater ease, when each man works at a single occupation, in accordance with his natural gifts, and at the right moment, without meddling with anything else." - Plato

How does Cloud Based Accounting benefit you or your business?"

Cloud based accounting allows us to share accounting information with your business in real-time.  At Morris & Tonsfeldt, we use cloud based accounting because it allows us to work on an even more personal and efficient level with you.

As a Hosted Client, you will have access to a full desktop version of QuickBooks accounting system in a multi-user environment, secure document management and storage...and we also host Microsoft Office 2010 on our virtual "Cloud" server.  It's an all-in-one virtual office solution.  As long as you have an internet connection, you can connect to your businesses QuickBooks financial information and important documents from anywhere in the world.

All accounts are subscription based which means that for a small company with a few users, monthly fees are very inexpensive. And as your company grows, upgrades are quick and easy. Another benefit of cloud based accounting is that you don't need to buy any expensive QuickBooks software or use up your computers storage, because everything is hosted on an outside secure server.

Call us to find out how you can get on the Cloud too.

 What's a "Cloud"?

"On the Cloud" or "Cloud Computing" is the use of computing resources (hardware and software) that are delivered as a service over a network (typically the Internet).

The name comes from the use of a cloud-shaped symbol as an abstraction for the complex infrastructure it contains in system diagrams. Cloud computing entrusts remote services with a user's data, software and computation.

End users access cloud-based applications through a web browser or a light-weight desktop or mobile app while the business software and user's data are stored on servers at a remote location allowing access from anywhere. Cloud computing allows enterprises to get their applications up and running faster, with improved manageability and less maintenance.

Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve economies of scale through shared services and infrastructure.
