Dennis began his career in public accounting with Coopers & Lybrand in Los Angeles in 1974.  A graduate of San Diego State University with a BS in Accounting, he obtained his CPA license in California in 1977.  He started his own public accounting practice in Grand Junction, CO in October of 1980.  He works with many industries and clients around the Unites State and Canada.

A true client advocate for individuals starting or growing a business, Dennis is proactive when working with business owners and enjoys coming up with creative solutions to solve problems.

A 38 year background and experience in public accounting gives Dennis the experience in a variety of services including tax planning, tax preparation, estates, consulting for succession planning or business sales.  

Dennis participates in a wide variety of organizations:  active member and Rotary Club past president, serves as Treasurer of  the Western Center for the Arts Foundation Board, and is Treasurer of the Western Colorado Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

In his spare time, Dennis likes to spend time floating the Colorado River with wife Lin, hunting and fishing.  He preserves fruits and vegetables from their garden and has thrown ceramic pottery for the last 40 years.

Lisa M Tonsfeldt: Partner, CPA, CCIFP, CRIS

Lisa has been in private and public accounting field since 1997 and worked with Dennis Morris since 2010 before becoming a partner in September of 2012.  She focuses on tax preparation, compilations, audits, and reviews...and runs the operations side of Morris & Tonsfeldt CPAs. 

Previously, as president of her own accounting firm, she has experience working extensively with contractors and the building trades. Her experience also includes financial statement presentation, compliance with accounting and auditing rules and regulations, corporate income tax and financial management consulting.

Ms. Tonsfeldt is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) and a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS). These designations recognize specialized expertise in financial management, risk and insurance, and establish one's commitment to the construction industry through an on-going continuing education component focusing on construction.

In her spare time, Lisa and her partner are the proud parents of two daughters active in 4H and sports...along with 2 grown sons,  3 grandkids and various dogs, chickens, turtles and numerous bunnies.

Sharon has been in the bookkeeping and accounting field since 1968. As an independent business owner, she works for us and a variety of other clients.  During tax time, she devotes herself to our spreadsheet work and supports the accounting staff to make sure everything cross-balances. 

In her spare time,  Sharon is a red-headed daredevil. She  likes to explore Colorado back roads with her husband and she's an "ace" bowler with league championship trophies.  Her favorite restaurant is a Mexican biker bar named Chuy's in Stevenson Ranch, California.  She has shown Tennesse Walking horses, driven a race car, rides motorcycles and co-piloted a 4 passenger Cessna 170 from Van Nuys CA to Minnesota.
